Overview

Instead of supressing symptoms, we combine the modalities of somatic bodywork, EMF therapy, and nutritonal medicine

to activate your body’s innate healing potential. Take care of your body – it is the only place you’ve got to live in!

TRIGGER POINT RELEASE BODYWORK

Physically, a trigger point feels like a tight point in the body that is hyper-irritable and can cause much distress in your daily life – from aching, to shooting pain, to various other sensations, even in other parts of the body (referred pain). These are storage points for not just the anatomical stresses of our daily lives, but also for blocked emotional, or “subtle energy”, which can manifest as mental/emotional distress. Releasing these points is an effective way to clear our energy channels and restore proper functioning of our tissues and organs. No Aspirin needed!

EMF FREQUENCY THERAPY

Our physical body produces a bio-energetic field which can be tuned and informed by specific electromagnetic frequencies to boost your capacity for regeneration. Exposure to these fields mimic the natural EMFs of the Earth, optimizing cellular functioning, increasing oxygenation, and enhancing circulation – leading to a reduction of pain signaling. Applications range from PEMF, Cold Laser Acupuncture, TENS, Biofeedback, and others.

ORTHOMOLECULAR NUTRITIONAL MEDICINE

Orthomolecular medicine takes a nutrition-based approach to managing chronic pain by addressing underlying biochemical imbalances in the body. Through targeted use of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients, this method supports optimal cellular function, reduces inflammation, and promotes the body’s natural healing processes. By nourishing the body at the biochemical level, patients often experience improved energy, reduced pain, and enhanced overall well-being… without side effects!

YOUR SESSION

During the session, Dr. Bene uses a practical, hands-on approach to move through your anatomical-energy lines to find centers of stress (trigger points) to release this stored up tension through mechanical pressure. A breathing technique is also taught to connect deeper to the body during the session. At the same time, EMF frequencies therapy are applied to the relevant area(s) to stimulate a cellular healing response. Finally, based on your unique symptom presentation and medical history, you are guided on nutritional supplementation within the context of orthomolecular principles. If necessary, laboratory results are reviewed or ordered.

FAQ

For your first session, we will move through your anatomical-energy lines to check how tense / or blocked your main channels are. After a preliminary questionnaire, you will lie down either on the massage table or the floor mat, to practice a deep breathing technique for relaxation. What follows is the massage itself, where I will be using my thumbs, palms, and elbows to palpate, locate, and work on the trigger points that are blocking the free flow of your energy channels. During the massage, I will be marking the trigger points I find on a body map chart, which you can take with you for future reference. At the same time, I will also be applying relevant frequency modalities.

As a holistic modality, trigger point therapy can alleviate various ailments connected to physical, emotional, and mental aspects of our being. Physical relief is the most immediate and most readily felt benefit. Muscles become looser and stronger and you feel more connected to your body. After several sessions and with a regular routine of stretching and correct lifestyle, you begin to develop a resilient feeling of lightness and well-being. Emotional benefits are also a long-term effect, as your emotional channels within the body are cleared and positive energy can begin flowing again. Negative mental tendencies will tend to fade and most people feel more grounded in themselves and in the present moment.

Because trigger points are a significant contributing factor or even the primary root cause of many health ailments, various and diverse symptoms can be improved – from migraines, congestion and sleeplessness, to indigestion and restless leg syndrome.

An overview of the most common ailments that can see improvement with trigger point therapy are the following:

  • Muscle stiffness

  • Fatigue

  • Chronic Pain

  • Tennis Elbow / Sciatica

  • Headaches, Migraine

  • Emotional blockages

  • Restlessness

  • Anxiety

  • Many more!

The meditation technique I teach my clients is a simple yet powerful deep breathing method that allows you to progressively connect deeper to your body by confronting, with your awareness, the sensations of the trigger point directly. This will help your tissues to regenerate themselves even quicker, as where attention goes, energy flows. It consists of taking deep breaths through the nose into the lower belly (the vital center in TCM), followed by a slow exhalation through the mouth. During the breathing, you direct your attention on all the sensations of your body, to the best of your ability. When a trigger point is stimulated, that is then where your attention follows. The breath is the most important connection and catalyst to our vital energy field.

The more relaxed your body is, the more vital energy can be restored in the trigger point, releasing tension. We have the tendency to resist pain and discomfort by avoiding paying attention to our bodies in our daily lives – occupying our minds through the all-too-easy distractions of our modern, ever-busy lives. This type of therapy acts as a much needed connection to the tension and stresses we are carrying, with the intention of finally allowing it to be released.

Trigger Points are the result of a disconnection to yourself on some level. The main stressor-points are usually simply the result of our lifestyles, our posture, our sedentary lifestyles (sitting too much, etc.). Our lack of awareness of how we are feeling leads to some kind of stress for our bodies that eventually feeds into a specific location – developing a trigger point.

Taking care of these points starts with relaxation. The more relaxed your body is, the less likely trigger points are formed or deepened. Stress management and meditation in our daily lives is the foundation. We can also make sure to meet our nutritional requirements, which will lead to quicker muscle regeneration and less toxic build-up in our muscle cells. Vitamin and / or mineral deficiency is associated with a high susceptibility to myofascial syndromes and increased difficulty of success in their cure. The vitamin B complex (especially B1, B6, and B12), as well as vitamin C, is assosciated with nervous system functioning, muscle health and regeneration.

Combining relaxation techniques with regular trigger point sessions is a great combination to gradually release these points for the long term. TPR sessions once to twice a week, depending on the condition and level of stress build-up, is recommended. Integrating some tennis ball exercises and stretching into a daily bodywork routine is also highly effective.

The number of trigger point release sessions needed varies from person to person, depending on the severity of your condition, how long you’ve had the pain, and how your body responds to treatment. Some people notice improvement after the first session, while others may require a series of treatments to achieve lasting relief. Your condition is likely the end result of many years of sub-optimal lifestyle habits and emotional suppression. There is no overnight fix. But progress can be quick if the right principles are applied.

Typically, a treatment plan is customized to your unique needs, with progress evaluated along the way. Our goal is always to provide the right frequency and number of sessions to help you feel better as quickly and sustainably as possible.

I aim to make this therapy as accessible as possible while still providing the highest value.
